Sustainable Packaging Design (2014)

 

Medium: Adobe Illustrator, Print + chipboard.

 

Objective: I created my own brand of cake mix called "Jamie Cakes".  I focus in particular on the shape of my box for this sustainable design. It resembles a slice of cake. By deciding on a triangle box it would save room in shipping. Also this would stand out more on shelves as an unusual shaped item and attract attention. After the cake mix had been baked and made into a dessert the box could act as a carrying container, fitting a piece of the cake for a guest to bring home. My box was assembled with 100% recycled sturdy chip board, had a 2nd purpose, and was recyclable.
